How to get an A in art:

WORK in art: get a 95% participation. Come to class prepared. Get your project out. Work.  And, if you SMILE, that sure does help.  Good job, Taylor you are on your way to getting an A in art.

Work Ethics: This means cleaning up your mess. Help others. Being nice, always helps, this is a life lesson.

SKETCHBOOK assignments: Turn them in. They are due Monday/Tuesday of EACH week.  This is 30% of your grade. SO...0's really bring your grade down fast.  BUT, you don't have to keep those ZEROS! If you missed a turn in date, turn it in the next week for a 90.

PROJECTS: 30% of your grade.  FOLLOW directions. TRY YOUR best. YOUR best.

Ta-Da. An A IN ART.
EVERYONE can get an A in art. YES, everyone.

What's this all about?  A wild opportunity and the encouragement of my middle schoolers!

7 ladies I admire are going to Rwanda in July. They are writers, bloggers, photographers, and artists (what a fun list , huh?!  Wouldn't an art teacher, artist, dreamer, doodler jump on that?!). These ladies are teaming up with Noonday Collection and the International Justice Mission (IJM) to connect with the folks in Rwanda. Specifically, with artisans that make products that are sold through Noonday.

I would be going as a storyteller. My first hand life experiences would be shared with you. I don't know what I will experience. I know what I've read and what I have heard. It is a country that has had an incredibly difficult 20 years. There is poverty and injustice. Noonday helps provide a new opportunity for these artisans. IJM helps put an end to violence.

Through art, text and video; I would be humbled and honored to share my experience and my life with the people on this trip and then YOU.

YOU have gotten me to the 18th spot out if 360 entries! Wow! Wow! Can we climb to #7 for a chance to move on?

This life is so much bigger than what we see or what we understand!!

How can I be love to someone in Rwanda? How can WE show love to someone in our own community that so desperately needs it?

Let's keep this conversation going!

And, MIDDLE school folks....let's see what YOUR vote and power in the social media scene can do!!
