MEANINGFUL weavings

Okay, so the B-day 7th graders are weaving.
I LOVE this project because it is GREAT for people that do not like to draw.
You can WEAVE ANYTHING in these!
And, adding meaning is always good.

Meaning could be:
what I ate today.
CUT UP your pop-tart box. Cereal box.  Kit-Kat wrapper.  WEAVE it.  COOL!!

OR....my mom's junk drawer.  CUT UP JUNK. Weave it in.

Or....RECYCLED treasures!  Cut up stuff that needs to be thrown away or given to goodwill.

Or......all white.  How about only whit stuff? I'm seeing plastic forks, spoons, paper, fabric, straws....

ENJOY THIS folks.

These win awards.  Seriously.

^^ The one on the left was a SCHOLASTIC winner a few years back!!
THIS IS A BIG DEAL!!!!

^^^ This blue weaving with the belts is really cool.  It is random. Fun. Has unity because of the colors.  NOW, IF I can just convince the artist that it is too!

Quotes. Writing. Reflection. Art!!

This group of 7th graders looked at a famous piece or art and art quote for their inspiration. They then ran with these two elements to create their own piece of art. Students reflected on the quote and interpreted its meaning. The result was great!

Variety. Master Art. Paper Beads.

7th grade has been working on crafts! This has meant paper beads and mixed media art. I love the variety in these projects. There are from 3a and 4a. Weavings to come soon.....

6th graders are headed to Greece!

This has been a fun start to their next big project! We have studied mythological creatures, looked at Greek Vases and Roman columns. I love the look of all three together!

Shadows...

I cannot wait to show off these 8th advanced projects! They are great!

Meaningful. Powerful. Bold.

7th grade Larger Than Life

These projects are hanging and finished!
Great job students, I just wish they weren't falling down in the halls.

Scale. Art tells a story. Value. Shading. Watercolor. Illustrations.
